SANCHAR (Society for Advancement of Networking and Communication for Human and Allied Resources) is an autonomous non-profit voluntary organization registered under the Societies Registration Act,1960.

SANCHAR’s primary objective is to ensure social justice, sustainable development and human rights in response to the needs of under-represented and marginalized sections of the society. It is dedicated to helping communities to overcome poverty and secure lasting improvement in their standard of living. The organization is aimed at improving the economical, social, environmental, educational and health conditions of the downtrodden and needy people of the rural and backward areas.

Organic Farming is recognized by FAO as suitable for sustainable agriculture.The reasons for adopting Organic Farming world wide are discussed in the paper.It is explained how in the Indian context Organic Farming is most suited for small and marginal farmers.
